Easy Hummus Dip

Taralinga Estate EVOO is ideal for adding a burst of flavour to your favourite dip - and hummus is no exception!

Not only is hummus delicious, but it is also versatile and packed with nutrients. Hummus is a great source of plant-based protein and antioxidants - not only from the extra virgin olive oil, but also from the chickpeas and tahini, which are proven to have anti-inflammatory properties.

What you need

1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup tahini
2 to 3 tablespoons water
1 garlic clove, chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
3 tablespoons Taralinga Estate Robusto extra virgin olive oil

What you do

  1. Mix the tahini, lemon juice and water in a blender for 1 minute.
  2. Add the EVOO, garlic, cumin and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and blend for 30 seconds.
  3. Gradually add the drained chickpeas and blend until thick and smooth.
  4. If too thick, extra water can be added.

Serve with an additional drizzle Taralinga Estate extra virgin olive oil and a dash of paprika. Store homemade hummus in an airtight container and refrigerate up to one week.
