About Taralinga Estate
Our olives are hand-picked and pressed within hours, locking in important nutrients which ensures Taralinga Estate EVOO is loaded with powerful antioxidants.
Be aware that not all olive oil is created equal.
The antioxidants in olive oil are derived from polyphenols, the micronutrients we get from certain plant-based foods. Many olive oils do not contain a lot of these polyphenols, even if it is extra virgin. It is important to consume good quality olive oil otherwise there will be very little, if any, health benefits.
Independent tests have revealed that Taralinga Estate oil has some of the highest levels of health giving polyphenol antioxidants.
We offer two varieties of award winning EVOO.
Our mono-cultivar Picual is a full bodied & robust oil favoured for its green tomato, almond & rocket aromas, strawberry notes on the palate and a clean, peppery finish. It is ideal for drizzling over a steak or roast, blending into a dip or adding a burst of flavour to cooked food.
We also offer a Premium Blend, which is a combination of the finest cold-pressed Koroneiki, Frantoio and Hojiblanca olives. Our blend is favoured for its sweet, fruity entrance on the palate and a slight peppery finish. It is a well-rounded EVOO ideal for drizzling over fish, as a salad dressing or as a healthy substitute for butter.
A brief history
The Taralinga Estate olive oil heritage started with Nonno Salvatore (Turri) Tarascio circa 1930. Nonno Turri was a genuine entrepreneur and operated the olive oil press for the town of Vizzini, Sicily.
The town’s farmers would bring their crop of olives to Turri for pressing. They would then take their oil and pay for the pressing with a share of the oil that Turri had pressed for them. Turri was an authority on oil quality and strived to process a special oil with each pressing.
Our mission is to follow the vision of excellence established by our Silician heritage and to process extra virgin olive oil to the highest possible quality. Accordingly, we have invested in a state of the art two-phase Pieralisi plant, sourced from Italy, which produces the finest grade of first-press EVOO.
